Colin Croxford, East Anglia DROC
honcho, describes this day out for several members of the Dax Rush Owners Club.
“The
day of the Annual Kimbolton Country Fayre duly arrives, and as one would expect,
the weather looked decidedly dodgy.
We
all duly met at the pre-arranged car park where Bash decided to lay some rubber
down doing some donuts.
The show
was extremely well attended with I estimate 400 cars in attendance.
Lots of
owners of classic cars were giving rides for charity, from Mini Cooper S (New
one), to Ferraris and a spate of TVRs.
Lots
of Joe publick were interested in the Rushes, one spectator even went home and
ten minutes later turned up in a nice yellow supercharged Zetec Rush.
Result! He was duly apprehended
and we now have a new DROC member. A great day was had by all with the weather
holding off with the sun coming out in sympathy.
Great
1/2lb beefburgers! The day was
completed with a post Fayre pint in one of the local hostelries.
We must
make this event an annual thing. Great
day out…bring the kids etc. All
in the support of cancer relief.
My
sincere thanks go to Richard (Boss) Pope, Paul Buckley,
Chris Haywood, Steve Mellor and George (our new member) for coming all that way
in their Rushes and sympathies to Stuart Woodruffe for having to turn up in his
tin top.”
Regards,
Colin C
